Convert JPG to PNG
When a tool insists on PNG, or you want a lossless copy to edit, convert your JPG here — locally, with nothing uploaded.
JPG vs PNG: what changes
JPG is the workhorse of photography: small files, universal support. But it has two limits — it’s lossy, and it can’t store transparency. When you need to hand an image to a design tool, place it in a context that requires PNG, or stop further quality loss across repeated edits, converting to PNG is the move.
PNG is lossless, so from the moment you convert, no more detail is shed no matter how many times you re-save. Keep in mind PNG can’t magically *restore* sharpness the JPG already lost, and the file will be larger — but for editing and PNG-only workflows that’s exactly the trade you want.

Why convert in your browser
Nothing is uploaded
Every byte is decoded and re-encoded on your own machine using Canvas and WebAssembly. Your images never touch a server, so there is no upload bar, no queue, and no copy of your file sitting in someone else’s bucket.
Works offline
After the first load the converter is cached. Open it on a plane, on hotel Wi-Fi, or with the cable unplugged and it still runs at your CPU’s full speed.
Frequently asked questions
Will JPG to PNG improve image quality?
No — converting can’t recover detail the JPG already discarded. What it does is make every subsequent save lossless, which prevents quality from degrading further as you edit and re-export.
Can I add transparency by converting to PNG?
Converting alone won’t remove a background — the photo arrives as a solid image. But once it’s a PNG you can erase the background in an editor and save the transparency, which JPG could never store.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser; your images stay on your device.
Can I convert several JPGs at once?
Yes — add a batch, convert them together, and download all the PNGs in a single ZIP.
