Is JFIF different from JPG?
Not in any meaningful way — JFIF is the standard format JPEG files are saved in. A .jfif and a .jpg hold the same kind of data; the extension is the only difference. We output the .jfif name when you choose JFIF.
What happens to my PNG’s transparency?
JFIF is JPEG, which can’t store transparency, so any transparent areas are filled with a solid background during conversion. If you need to keep transparency, convert to WebP or stay with PNG instead.
What quality should I use?
For most images, 85–92 looks indistinguishable from the original while keeping the file small. Push to 100 for maximum fidelity, or lower for aggressive compression.
